Acharya Smt. Indhumadhi Gopalakrishnan

Acharya Smt. Indhumadhi Gopalakrishnan had her initial tutelage under Guru Smt. Geetha Sankar in Trichy, Tamil Nadu. After her Arangetram she joined Kalai Kaveri College of Fine Arts to continue her association with Bharatanatyam. She graduated from Kalai Kaveri with a Diploma in Bharatanatyam. She has also completed Diploma in Yoga from the Bharathidasan University.

Apart from being an Artist, she has also completed Masters in Computer Applications from Shrimati Indira Gandhi College, Tiruchirappalli. She has come a long way in proving her artistry in this field. She has choreographed more than 300 dances in her own vibrant style which attracts all its viewers. Every year she brings more creativity and complexity during her annual show “Natya Utsav”.

The students of Salangai School of Performing Arts has performed in many prestigious Sabhas in Chennai and stages like Cleveland Thyagaraja Aradhana.

Awards & Recognitions

Since her graduation in Kalai Kaveri , she has been choreographing and performing at various Sabhas and temples in Chennai and Trichy. In 2008, after moving to USA, Smt. Indhumadhi Gopalakrishnan founded Salangai School of Performing Arts in Delaware. The school is registered with the aim to promote the classical Indian dance form of Bharatanatyam. She has the privilege to be the USA Chair- person for the All India Dancer’s Association.

Acharya Smt. Indhumadhi Gopalakrishnan is a passionate advocate for the preservation and promotion of classical dance and music. Through her dedicated efforts as an event organizer, she has created platforms that celebrate the richness of these art forms.
